Taran Virk, Aarthi Ravi and Michael Truong successfully defend their MA thesis projects!  Three lab defenses within a month - new lab record!  Congrats Taran, Aarthi and Michael!  Photos from a belated celebration below.

August 2020: CogSci 2020

Dr. Pathman gives a talk at the annual meeting of the Cognitive Science Society.  She was invited to participate in the paper symposium titled "Cognitive models of time: Across the lifespan, the world, and the mind." This talk included both undergraduate and graduate student coauthors.

May 2020: Cognitive Neuroscience Society Conference

Dr. Pathman presents at the annual CNS meeting held virtually.

October 2019: Cognitive Development Society Conference

Graduate students present two posters at the CDS conference.

June 2019: Keynote Speaker and Junction BIA Event

Dr. Pathman was asked to give the keynote presentation at the LaMarsh Centre for Child and Youth Research Annual Symposium. This year’s theme was “Innovative research methodologies – enhancing well-being of children and youth, their families and communities.”  Dr. Pathman discussed the various methods used to test children’s memory as well as the importance of doing so. MDLaB members were excited to meet future junior scientists and families at the Junction BIA Summer Solstice festival.  Our lab had so much fun speaking with families and working with kids at our arts and crafts table.

MDLaB members attend the Toronto Area Memory Group conference.  Dr. Pathman was asked to be one of two judges for the graduate student awards.

April 2019: Thesis Conference and Invited Talk

MDLaB Honours Thesis student, Narges, presented a poster at the 2019 Psychology Undergraduate Poster Day! The title of the poster was "Semantic Memory Development in a Naturalistic Learning Environment."  Narges will present this work at Waterloo in May.

Dr. Pathman gives an invited talk at Ryerson University.

March-April 2019: SRCD Conference and 3MT Competition

SRCD (Society for Research in Child Development) is a major international outlet for developmental science research.  The MDLaB had 4 presentations accepted at the SRCD Biennial Meeting held in Baltimore, MD.  Dr. Pathman was invited to give a talk as part of a research symposium and graduate students presented 3 different posters at the conference.  For more information please see the conference website and check out the online program link.

MDLaB graduate student won 1st prize at York’s 3MT (3-minute thesis) competition!

NSERC Discovery Grant

Dr. Pathman receives a National Sciences and Engineering Research Council Discovery Grant to support her research on children's memory.

January 2019: Invited Talk

Dr. Pathman gives a talk at the Ebbinghaus Empire Lecture Series at the University of Toronto.
